Go Beyond Self – One Year of a Journey

On December 15, Go Beyond Self turned one year old. During this time, I have allowed the entire concept to develop and grow naturally, without forcing it. The idea of Go Beyond Self did not emerge overnight—it grew out of my own journey, which began more than ten years ago. Today, I feel deep gratitude for the opportunity to share the thoughts and insights that have matured and revealed themselves over this first year.

Every beginning is, for the modern person, somewhat nerve-tingling. Often it seems as though a new beginning requires the ending of something before it—as if some kind of inner “death” were necessary. Yet a new beginning can also be born from something much softer and more alive: care for and love toward Life itself.

Thus, I have been able to witness new life, a new timing, and a new breath.

On my inner journeys, I have repeatedly arrived at a clear realization that my role in Go Beyond Self and in counseling is to be of service. What this means exactly is difficult to put into words. Yet being in service itself is, at its root, a movement beyond oneself—a step forward from the self.

Throughout this year, in my work with clients, I have most often encountered questions about presence, entering into silence, and allowing oneself to descend into one’s own depth. These themes have unfolded differently for each person and have supported forward movement in very different areas of life. Still, every path to resolution always begins in one place—free will and a decision. This is followed by a step into silence and presence.

For me, silence is sacred and calls for respect. When we sit in silence and presence, the shadows of our lives begin to reveal themselves. Yet these shadows are not threats—they are teachers. What a gift it is to allow self-criticism and the striving for perfection to dissolve into acceptance and dignity within this space.

In silence and presence, there is also that falling into depth which, according to common understanding, is equated with difficulty. When in fact, it is rather relaxation and lightness. Go Beyond Self carries precisely this experience: depth that is beautiful, natural, and genuine. For me, depth means finding one’s own naturalness and true essence—and that is something worth celebrating.

I wish you and your loved ones soulful moments, meaningful experiences, and the courage to be present during the holiday season. Wishing you a wonderful Christmas!

Go Beyond Self means:

  • to go even further beyond words, thoughts, and feelings
  • to go even further beyond everything that memory holds within itself
  • to go even further beyond the experience of unity
  • to go even further beyond authenticity
  • to go even further beyond every truth known so far
  • to allow this “going further” to manifest in everyday life
  • to breathe, see, touch, smell, and hear beyond familiar human experience
